CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT
The International Code Council is dedicated to ensuring that manufacturers, code officials, designers, engineers, specifiers and the global building community at large have the essential tools to succeed. Addressing industry needs, we have broadened our reach internationally, particularly enhancing our conformity assessment services in the MENA region and Oceania, where we now offer a comprehensive suite of services. Our lab facilities have expanded to better serve our customers, and we have joined forces with other industry-leading organizations to amplify our resources. Our commitment to our conformity assessment solutions and services remains strong, with plans for continued growth in the coming years. Let's look back at key accomplishments from 2023.
The Safe and Sustainable Cabinetry program was launched.
ICC-ES hosted a workshop in Dubai on the Safe & Successful Use of Innovative Building Materials.
The International Code Council joined the TIC Council.
ICC-ES celebrated its anniversary by looking back at its rich history of collaboration with both building officials and manufacturers to bring innovative products and building safety solutions to market.
NTA expanded its lab facilities by adding an A2LA-accredited plumbing testing lab in Nappanee, IN.
IAS hosted the Asia Pacific Accreditation Body Cooperation 2023 Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA.
IAS was recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Accreditation Scheme for Conformity Assessment (ASCA) permanent program to accredit testing laboratories that perform premarket testing for medical device companies.
IAS became a founding member of the North American Accreditation Forum (NAAF) established in June 2023 by accreditation bodies in North America.
IAS commenced offering accreditation programs on biobanking, aerospace and validation and verification bodies.
ICC-ES offers a complete suite of services for the Oceania region, with A2LA accreditation to conduct product evaluation to the Building Code of Australia and the New Zealand Building Code and JASANZ accreditation to conduct plumbing product evaluations to the WaterMark scheme in Australia.
A delegation visited the Oceania region for the 2023 Inter-Jurisdictional Regulatory Collaboration Committee meeting. The event included 20 meetings with partners, stakeholders, chapter representatives to understand their needs and leverage the family of solutions to address challenges and improve building safety.
